We are a family friendly camping and caravan site in the heart of Dalby Forest, nestled within the North Yorkshire moorland and open from 1st April until the end of September. ย  Our site is completely quiet after 10.00pm and is checked to ensure this is the case.

An ideal site for families, surrounded by great walks, and a stones throw from the Forestry play park and Go Ape adventures.

Spent the weekend of the 5th July at Stoneclose campsite. it was our first camping trip as a family, and what a beautiful little site we picked, the facilities were clean and tidy, the site is amongst the most stunning area with great walks and just a short ride to a village for provisions. We dont normally re-visit but we will be coming back here.

Just got back from our third stay at the site in the camping pods. Helen and Richard (the owners) are very kind and friendly. The toilet/shower block and pot washing area is very clean and practical. We ordered some cakes from the specials board, which Helen baked the very same day and were absolutely delicious!

Would highly recommend this campsite. 5 stars!

Third stay for us at High Rigg in May 2014 and we keep going back. Richard and Helen are the fantastic owners who make this outstanding site the very best. The whole site is really clean and tidy and our daughter just loves going to check on the cows, pigs and hens.
It really is an idyllic setting and being able to cycle straight into the forest avoiding the road is priceless especially if you have young children who want to ride their own bikes.
I can’t recommend the site enough but hope that not too many people book – we want to go back again very soon!!

  18. Doug Stratford says:

Lovely little site, a bit off the beaten track but well worth it when you get there, if you like wildlife then there is plenty to see, the only little problem is It would benefit with hard standings as it was very wet when we visited, showers and toilets were nice and warm. eggs straight from the hens you cant get fresher than that, friendly and helpful hosts, would recommend it to anyone who likes peace and quiet

  19. Michelle rowell says:

Our first stay here, and what a gem… Lovely flat site, well cared for, great shower block, loved the heated towel rail!. Great bike wash area. Superb bike riding from the farm. Great five star site, thank you Helen and Richard…

I chose this site to get close to the Forest, looking for peace & quiet and I found exactly what I was looking for. High Rigg Farm is a gem, so much so it is now on my top 5 list of-use again sites. Plenty of room, good facilities, easy access to the Forest to walk away all the troubles of life. The warm welcome leaves you feeling relaxed from the beginning of the stay. The Rolls are wonderful, well worth price. A great Yorkshire welcome in the great Yorkshire Forest, this life just keeps giving. The idea of leaving the centre of the site free from campers is an excellent one, good size for the younger(and not so younger) to enjoy the freedom.

We have stayed at High Rigg farm a number of times now and at different times of the year and have never failed to have a lovely relaxing holiday.
In spite of being incredibly busy Helen can never do enough to ensure your comfort and stay are enjoyable.
Our party consists of ourselves (pensioners) our daughter and her husband and granddaughter, now 10 years of age, but has been staying at the campsite since she was 4 and we all equally enjoy what it has to offer.
Thank you so much Helen and Richard and I hope we can continue to enjoy your hospitality for many years to come.

We stayed in June /July for three whole weeks and enjoyed every day of it!
Thanks to the hospitality of both Helen and Richard.Lovely campsite in a beautiful surrounding.Normally we never stay that long on one site but there was lots and lots to see and do.
Another great plus is in our vieuw the restriction in the use of BBQ’s and no campfires, a much cleaner air….

What an absolutely amazing site in such a picturesque location. From the second I arrived I felt so relaxed. The space you are given around your unit is so big too.
It is a working farm, but it is so safe and clean.
We got to see the goats with their babies, along with the lambs and cows with theirs.
Helen and Richard (the owners) even treated us to some fresh homemade ruhbarb crumble muffins which were delicious.
I also purchased our bbq food from Helen/Richard, the pork and apple burgers where amazing!
All of the walking routes and the bike trail routes were easily accessible from the site also.
We didnt want to come home today and are already planning our next stay ๐Ÿ˜€

  35. Ray Butchart says:

A most relaxing, clean and quiet campsite. Easy access to good walking around Dalby Forest. Our pitch had plenty of space and the quiet time after 10pm was good. Helen and Richard were the perfect hosts.
Cakes and breakfast baps were excellent. You have to try Helen’s crumble muffins. Thank you for providing the take-away pack of sausages and burgers; they were first class.
We shall be booking a return visit.
Thank you again Helen and Richard.

What a gem of a campsite in the heart of Dalby Forest! Terrific location for cycling, Dalby Activity Centre and Go Ape. We had a brilliant weekend in our motorhome with the cattle as neighbours! Helen and Richard could not have been anymore accommodating – so much so that our 10 year old daughter now wants to be a farmer! Thanks for a fantastic weekend – canโ€™t wait to come back. David, Sarah and Olivia Blanchfield

We stayed at the farm in one of your pods. First time ever sleeping in a pod and at a working farm.

The pods were great! And the heater kept us lovely and warm.

Facilities are clean, and having the bike wash area was really useful. We took home a nice clean bike.

    We’ll certainly come again!

  43. First time we have been to stoneclose, only due to having work done at our home, and fitting in the time to come.
We arrived on the 14th of June 2022.
We was welcome by Helen, such a lovely lady, and so is Richard the owns.
We stayed in one of the large pods, clean and warm, which in our 50ths and children grown up, we find them relaxing and good value for money.
The campsite is a working farm, and this weekend we got to see the sheep been sheared, which was lovely to see.
Helen doesn’t like large groups, which works with us, it’s quite after 10 o’clock at night, and the farm is clean, washroom ect.
Thanks Helen and Richard for another lovely stay, much appreciated.
See you both in August, looking forward to seeing you soon xxx

  44. Paul Slaney says:

A great family friendly place to stay, a well kept campsite with clean facilities and endless hot water, Helen is a lovely lady but dont be fooled if you break the rules you’ll know about it, she is not afraid to tell people, if you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay and reasonably priced.
